The damaging short-termism that characterises our present condition is entrenched in our underlying structural capacities and incentives - resulting in short-sighted and vulnerable subjects, short-term financial investments, waste economies and a growing political fracture between intergenerational relations. The shift towards the long-term, requires systemic changes that are comprehensive.

In collaboration with EIT Climate-KIC, Dark Matter Labs is developing a portfolio of ‘experimental probes’ – spanning across individual empowerment, cultural narratives, democratic processes, financial instruments and policy reforms – to enable a reorientation of mindsets, behaviours and mechanisms that foster long-term thinking and acting.
