RZ Studio is a capital allocation studio working to rebuild the infrastructure through which capital meets the challenges of our time. We work alongside place-based teams who have deep civic legitimacy, local knowledge and proximity to real risk, helping them turn that position into the capacity to understand systemic risks, convene the actors needed to respond, and develop new pathways for capital to flow. Our focus is on the underlying architecture of allocation: the legal, economic, governance and intelligence systems that make it possible to resource whole systems and foundational conditions over the long term.

We work through a model of grafting and cross-pollination: temporarily joining capabilities, relationships and capital at critical moments to provoke new possibilities, build practical capacity and help new architectures take root. This can include co-creation, networks, inquiry capital, shared intelligence and, where appropriate, significant allocation capital. Across a growing cohort of place-based partners, we are exploring what it takes to allocate to systemic portfolios, coordinate many-to-many commitments, recognise multiple forms of return, hold risk alongside partners and build the institutional intelligence required for adaptive, place-based capital allocation. In this way, RZ Studio seeks to help build the next generation of capital allocation infrastructure from the places where systemic risks are actually experienced and where the capacity to respond can be built.
